Ken Rice grew up in Matthews, North Carolina and is a graduate of East Mecklenburg High School and UNC Charlotte. He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and is a Certified Purchasing Manager. He retired from Duke Energy in 2016 after 31 years in Purchasing and Supply Chain and is loving the retired life!
Ken got his first shotgun, a Savage 410, for Christmas when he was about twelve years old. He spent time shooting targets and bird hunting with his dad. After graduating from college, he became interested in skeet shooting. In 1993 he moved to Rock Hill and was introduced to sporting clays through local fundraisers. Ken loves being a member at Rocky Creek and all the people he has met there over the years. He enjoys shooting with his friends Charlie and Tom and especially his nephew Bryan that he introduced to sporting clays last year. Ken enjoys bringing new people to the sport and helping them develop their skills. His favorite gun for sporting clays is his Browning Citori, but he still has that 410 and recently shot it at Rocky Creek.
Ken has been married to his wife Kathy for 35 years, and they have two children, Lindsey and Justin. Lindsey is getting married in November of this year and Justin is getting married in April of 2019. Life is busy and happy!
